Threads fell lightly against her neck, lifeless and dull as it bounced up and down with her movement. Hellhole's glanced around at the area which she had just entered, it was quite empty although that wasn't surprising to anybody, including herself. It had been long ago, before she had been born that these trees had been burned, it was like it had mourned far more than it should. She would have thought that this place would be lush with life already, yet it wasn't. It was a desolate landscape. Quite pitiful.
She glanced around, she knew this area but she didn't know every part of the land that the equines roamed. Earlier that month she had gotten lost from her herd when a big storm hit, she moved to area's to area's which she had known when she was younger, she'd find another herd soon enough, if not a herd, she'd find a stallion, or perhaps another mare. A small sigh escaped her, how pitiful she was, or must seem to others if they could listen to every thought she thought. She lashed out her whipcord in annoyance as she glanced once more across the dead part of the forest, it creeped her out, this place did.
Hooves pounded against the mossy underfoot, until a sudden crunch made her stop. It had been from another equine snapping on some sort of twig and it hadn't exactly sounded like that, it sounded a bit different. She looked down, only to see something that resembled a bone under her hoof. Her body trembled as she backed up and moving around it, trying to fill her head with other things not related to death or the creepiness of the forest. 'I shouldn't have come this way..' Her thoughts echoed in her head but there was nothing to change what she had already picked.

Blue orbs scanned the desolate place as the stallion slowly made his way further into the area. He had heard of the fire that ripped across this land and felt the need to inspect it for himself... years later of course. His black and white coat showed off his lean muscles as he picked up his pace and trotted. Ears open listening to sounds he closed his eyes and enjoyed the feel of being able to move freely, unhindered by trees that forced would one to weave through them. Not that he hated trees, he just like to move in the open.
His eyes flew open as he heard the familiar sound, at least to him, of a bone being crushed. An involuntary shiver ran through out his now still body as his mind snapped to thoughts of that pale white horse that had been his sire. 'Pull yourself together. Thanatos is dead remember?' Letting go of a sigh he gazed towards where the bone had been snapped and was slightly relieved startled mare.
'See, not Thanatos! It doesn't seem like she meant for a bone to break.' He thought as he let his neck go slack and head fall victim to gravity. A pair of empty sockets stared back at his from a skull. "Well, it official this place is creepy." His deep voice seemed much louder in the place he was certain the term 'silent as the grave' came from. He raised his heed once more to avoid gazing at the skull.

By instinct, her body stiffened, ready to run from the "predator" if showed to be one who would try to kill her so that she could become dinner. Her cranium swung towards the newcomer, as nape, and bodice followed soon after. A soft sigh blew out of her nose as she looked to the owner of the voice, perhaps he was going to start a harem of his own, if so, would it be a possibility to join his? He wasn't amazingly tall but in her eye's he was, though that was due to her short stature because of her breed.
Her palomino coat was a dirty sight to behold, dirt stuck to it like burrs and her mane and tail were quite all tangled up. Her dark brown eye's did not show much except that she was more calm than she had been a few heartbeat's ago. She looked over the stallion, whether he was ugly or handsome, in the eye's of an equine, it would not matter to her in the end but having.. looks, as you may say, was a plus to have. Finally lyrics were emptied out of her mouth, as vocals backed it up. "Quite creepy. Sorry for causing a scare there."
She could feel the soft thud of her heart, it had quickened earlier when she had been taken by surprise by the bone and after that by the stallion who spoke loudly in a quite quiet area. Curiously she stared at him, not moving forward or back, wondering why she had not picked up his scent. Perhaps he had come only a little or at the very moment she had stepped on the bone.. although that seemed unlikely, perhaps. The forest was dead, not alive. It wasn't as easy to hide yourself int his area, though she did not think that the stallion came to do harm.

He chuckled a bit at what the mare had said. "Not to worry, though it seems I gave you a start also. So for that I apologize." He replied in a light tone as he lifted his left foreleg under his bodice with his right one out resting his weight on his haunches in a form of a bow.
The stallion let his blue orbs glance over the small mare and found her rather pleasant looking even with a coat that was dirty. "Now if you don't mind me asking, what is a pretty mare like yourself doing in a place of death such as this one?" He questioned as he nudged the fox skull that he had almost crushed with his hoof to make his point.
“Fore I don’t thing you are the type that enjoy places like this.” I don’t like it here even though the place were I grew up was worse than this. He thought to himself as he reexamined the area.

"It's also full of life." She retorted, though this place did creep her out in many different ways it was a familiar place to her. She shifted her weight, her body aching to move around and run around. "Just look at this." She said, moving towards a plant that was growing, green leaves uncurling, it looked good too but she wasn't going to eat it, not in this place. A little sigh blew out of her, she had been a bit to defensive.
Her eyes trailed back towards the stallion, "A little while back I got separated from my herd," She paused, her ears listening to any sound beyond the two of them. Though this place was easy to see around, there were still dangers lurking everywhere and you could never know what would happen to yourself. "This is a familiar area, though probably not the best." She continued, an ear pinned against her head.
"Come." her voice found it's way out of her mouth once more. "We should walk and talk."
